'A Gentle Heat'

At Gnarabup Yoga Studio, our use of infrared heat is designed not to create the extreme conditions of traditional hot yoga but to provide a gentle, comfortable warmth that enhances your practice. Unlike hot yoga, where temperatures can soar, our infrared system is calibrated to warm the space to a soothing level that supports your body without overwhelming it.

Infrared heat warms the body directly rather than just heating the air, which helps to improve flexibility and circulation while promoting relaxation and muscle recovery. This approach ensures a cozy environment where you can stretch and move more freely, without the discomfort of excessive heat. Our goal is to create a balanced and inviting space that facilitates a comfortable and effective yoga experience, supporting your well-being in a way that feels nurturing and supportive.

  1. Increased Mobility & Flexibility: Infrared heat deeply penetrates muscles and joints, enhancing flexibility and preventing injuries. By warming the muscles, it makes them more pliable and easier to stretch, improving overall performance.

  2. Detoxification: Infrared heat in yoga classes enhances detoxification by boosting circulation and promoting sweating, a natural method of eliminating toxins. You'll leave each class feeling refreshed and revitalized, ready to take on your day with renewed energy.

  3. Improved Cardiovascular Health: Infrared heat can positively affect cardiovascular health by improving blood pressure, lowering cholesterol levels, and enhancing circulation. This contributes to a healthier heart and reduces the risk of cardiovascular issues.

  4. Reduced Stress and Anxiety: Yoga, already known for reducing stress and anxiety, is even more effective with the addition of soothing infrared heat. The warmth relaxes muscles and calms the mind, facilitating a deeper release of tension.

  5. Enhanced Immune Function: Infrared heat stimulates white blood cell production, enhancing immune function. This boosts the immune system and reduces the risk of illness.

What EXACTLY is FAR Infrared Heating?

  • Far Infrared Radiant (FIR) heat is a non-invasive, natural and safe form of heating, which not only feels great but is also extremely therapeutic.

  • FIR radiant heat is a form of thermal energy. It is the warmth you feel penetrate your skin when you are outside in the sun.

  • The same technology is used in saunas, to keep premature babies warm and is very safe and healing.

  • FIR heat is capable of penetrating deep into the human body, gently elevating the body's surface temperature and activating major bodily functions. In yoga practice the heat warms your muscles, which creates more flexibility and allows a deeper release in your body. Far Infrared heat is also much more efficient in releasing toxins (a major contributor to many illnesses & disease) from your body.

  • Other heating systems, which blow hot air, can be very drying to your mouth, throat and lungs creating discomfort. FIR radiant heat creates a more comfortable environment to practice in & eliminates the need to have such high temperatures as the warm temperatures of FIR rays increase the heart rate equal to an aerobic level even though the exercise is low impact.
